I don’t usually stop to help people out, but today was different for some reason. I was just returning home after putting in applications at the pizza places near my house to be a delivery driver. It’s a far cry from the position I held for years as a maintenance supervisor, but times are tough, and I need any job I can get. Anyway, as I pull into my neighborhood there is a guy in a suit changing a tire on his Mercedes Benz. I was in jeans and a tee shirt and even had work gloves in my truck, so I stopped and made quick work of changing the tire for him.

I didn’t expect anything more than a thank you, but he tried to give me a twenty. I told him no thanks, but if he knew anyone at any of the pizza places to put in a good word for me. Turns out he owns a company that sells opt in email lists, and he might have a job for me. Unfortunately I don’t know squat about email list marketing. That’s when he says that it is not that kind of position, but that he needs a maintenance supervisor instead! Talk about instant Karma; I start Monday!
