I was doing a little research on the social and historical background of To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  As I was using “Bing” to look up information on Alabama cities in the 1950’s, I happen to come across a landing page for “search engine marketing Birmingham“.  Wow.  I didn’t know that this sort of service even existed. 

Apparently, if you own a business you can hire a company to position your company name and any keywords you want associated with it in a favorable place for those people that are either specifically looking for something like you, or else they are looking for something else-perhaps just surfing-and they happen to come across your name and then maybe will click on your link out of curiosity.  So let’s say that you live in Birmingham and you want to find a company that will make the search engines find you.  Just type in “marketing services Birmingham” and you’ll be sure to find a company you can use.

Of course, make sure that you’re speaking to the right Birmingham people:  there’s not only one in Alabama; there’s one in England, too!  But no matter where you live, this is the neatest new marketing strategy thus far in the 21^st century.
