I was doing some research for a news article I was writing recently about bail bonds.  I have never thought too highly of this industry, or the people it serves.  One of the cool things about being a journalist is that I tend to go into most stories with an open mind.  It tends to make my articles more objective and readable.

I did some interviews with a few bail bond places after looking up Bail Bonds San Francisco, mostly talking to the employees who spend time running to the jail in San Francisco.  I was a bit enlightened when I learned who they had as clients.  It seems that a major part of their business happens to be people like me, and probably you.  A very high number of their clients are first-time offenders who did something that was not quite what they should have done.

I now know that what they do is really a good thing that helps out good people who need it.  To say my thinking has changed is an understatement.  The people they spent most of their time helping really did not need to spend days in jail, as it would have ruined their jobs, families, or even worse.  These are people who made a bad decision, and are ready to own up to it.  They are people like us who need a helping hand, so that they can go on about their lives without losing everything they have.
