Trust Fall Disaster

When I was growing up, I had braces. My teeth were way out of whack, and I had the tin grin going on all through junior high school and well into my freshman year in high school. All in all it was about three years of changing rubber bands and brushing four times a day. Oh, and the pain! The day after the evil orthodontist would tighten those things, eating would be out of the question.

So here I am now finishing college, and I have a great smile. It was all worth it. So as part of a class I am taking, we did some team building exercises. One of these was a trust fall. A person stands on a chair and falls backwards into our arms. The idea is that they trust the group to catch them. The person falling failed to trust us though and he swung his arms out as he was falling.  That was when his elbow broke one of my incisors in half!

So much for perfect teeth thanks to him. Now I am scheduled to meet with a cosmetic dentist. Fortunately, in California cosmetic dentistry is very common. I just hope this dentist can do it in a way where he provides comfortable dental care.
