Word Choice is ALWAYS Important

Word choice is always important, in more ways than just what keyword phrases you use on your website and in your online marketing campaigns.
For instance, I think it was the book Freakanomics that talked about how word choice is important in real estate listings. Real estate agents tend to use certain words in their written description of a property, and the book discusses how the words they use have certain connotations. Therefore, real estate agents want to avoid words that have negative connotations, and as a result there are certain words that are more common in property listings that others.
There are also certain things that are almost guaranteed to be highlighted in a real estate listing. For instance, if a house has a recently installed outdoor kitchen, complete with Cal Flame outdoor kitchens appliances, it’s probably worth a mention in the listing as an extra. Recent remodels are also usually mentioned, whereas an older house without any updates is often billed as “charming” — putting a positive spin on it, though any real estate agent is going to know what it really means.
Even though these words have a different purpose than search engine optimization, you could almost call them keywords, as they are the “key” to an effective listing, i.e., one that will generate a sale — just as are the keywords you use on a page.

Oh, I agree. The right words help so much. One wrong move and it can spell disaster for you.

Yup, the right words make the difference. That’s why sometimes press releases are the hardest to write because you need to know the right words to make a sale.

I agree. Using the wrong words results in undesirable outcomes. So it’s always best think first before committing.
Good post.

Word choice is very important. It will make or break you. The right word will either let you succeed or fail you.
Be careful when choosing your words!

When I write, I always have a dictionary and thesaurus with me so I can easily look up a word that needs to be replaced. I try to never repeat words within a paragraph. It becomes very redundant.

Yes, it’s always hard to think of the right words to make a sale. It has to be able to capture and keep the attention of the buyer.

It’s one thing but it holds so much meaning. And you have to be careful because if you put in the wrong word, it might give off a negative meaning.
