New Kids on the Block

My wife and I have been living in the same neighborhood for about six years, and we’ve generally gotten along with everybody around us. My wife is even best friends with one of the women that lives down the street, and I’m in a fantasy football league with a bunch of the guys in the neighborhood.
Anyway, about six months ago, somebody bought the house three down from us and made major renovations before moving in. They repainted the entire place, added a Florida room in back and built one of those out door kitchens and an outdoor fireplace in the backyard. It became by far the nicest property on the block.
They had a cookout and invited the entire block to celebrate finally moving in, and they seemed like nice folks. The thing is, though, that they’ve had a several more cookouts and invited the entire block except for my wife and I and one other family, which is a little strange and insulting. I’m not taking it too hard, but my wife is pretty distressed about it. She’s worried that we did something to them and wants me to go talk to the husband, which I’m not sure I want to do because it seems like it will only cause more trouble.
