I’ve heard that you can’t keep bird feeders, barbecues, trash cans or pet food outdoors when you live in an area frequented by bears, but does anyone know whether this applies to outdoor garden wall fountains?  I think garden wall fountains are so lovely.  But if they attract bears, then I definitely don’t want one!

This is something I think would be so wonderful to have if we ever wrap our deck around to the side of the front sitting room and turn the window there into French doors.  That side of our house definitely has the best views, and we wouldn’t be visible to the neighbors and could see our little son play in the grass below.   But with a little son, attracting bears is definitely NOT on the agenda.  Has anyone heard of fountains attracting bears?

I’m dreaming, of course.  Who has money right now to do such things?  That, fixing up our bathroom, replacing our wooden stair rail with a decorative iron one, pushing the wall to our living room out further…well, at least when you still have lots to work on in your house, then you never become like the Roses in “War of the Roses,” right?
