The State of My Cupboards

My kitchen is a mess. It always has been really. I don’t own almost any real dishes – rather, I have a substantial collection of stadium cups and old personalized koozies given to me by jobs I used to work at, homecoming rallies I’ve been to and banks I’ve visited on their “Community Days” barbecues. I don’t necessarily enjoy drinking out of a can with custom coozies wrapped around them; nor do I necessarily enjoy spending my spare time trying to scrounge up one more clean bowl to eat dinner in, but I’m just not ready to clean it all up just yet most of the time.

Ironically, I am a very clean person. I try to keep my work space as clean as possible and if my room or my things get overly dirty or dusty, I grow frustrated and obsessively clean them. For whatever reason, the communal space of the kitchen is just not something I want to clean most of the time – I wish I understood why, or at least could figure out the logic that I’m utilizing when I essentially step away and ignore those dishes. Even just a few clean loads in the dishwasher every now and then would go a long way. Alas, I don’t quite want to.
