Developer’s Dream

Psych!  You have no idea, as a developer, how great, fantastic and easy it is to work with a quality product.  So many things have been designed to be so closed down, ineffectual, and difficult to use and maneuver, but then again, there is still hope.  Yes, hope!  Because in a world of substandard software and sad excuses for design, my employer just handed me the proverbial keys to the .net storefront.  I’d say it was rad, but really, that’s out.  How about ‘killer’?  Is ‘sick’ still in?  All things apply.  It is making my job easier; let’s just put it like that.  Setting up the storefront shopping cart that’s part of the ecommerce shopping cart software?  Pie.  Cake.  All manner of easily sliced baked goods.  They support Excel and XML, which I can’t tell you how much of a relief that is for me.  I can program in C#.  I don’t want to, but I can.  Which, really, isn’t that the point of capitalism, of the glorious internet?  I have as many options as I can handle-more, maybe.  Why not, right?  I deserve it.  I work hard, but why shouldn’t a computer program that doesn’t have to go home to his wife and kids work a little harder while I get the credit?
