Uncle Milo’s Growing Business

Who says one needs a college degree to succeed in life? My father’s brother, Uncle Milo got stuck in high school due to financial reason but he never got stuck in poverty. His secret is patience, perseverance and using his skills with passion.
At some point, Uncle Milo worked as an assistant to a key maker in his town when he was at his teens. He was so passionate about his work that he learned the trade quickly.
He carefully studied how to work with multi spindle machines and even volunteered to assist in works that were not on his job description. Learning to use these machines was not like learning to use a computer now where one can practice at home. So what Uncle Milo did was have a mental picture of the machine’s operation and when he would get home, he’d scribble and sketch his thoughts on paper for maximum retention of knowledge.
After a few years and having saved some money, he started his own business. He started with using second hand used screw machines which came a lot cheaper after some sweet talks.
He slowly worked his way up, first hiring a few workers and gradually buying additional machine tools. Now, his shop has already several lathe and multi spindle screw machines. And he is now one of the biggest metal products manufacturers in our town.
